The original kitchen featured classic design elements: white cabinetry, granite countertops, a large center island, and stainless steel appliances. But the homeowners were ready for something entirely different. They envisioned a full redesign that would bring a sleek, modern European aesthetic into the heart of their home.

Surfaces remain unobstructed, storage solutions are seamlessly integrated, and the soft neutral palette creates a calming visual rhythm. Enhancing the Layout
We removed the wall separating the kitchen from the formal dining room, expanding the visual field and allowing natural light from the front window to flood the entire space. This open layout increased the kitchen’s usable footprint, creating room for additional cabinet storage and a welcoming tea-seating niche accented by a Moravian star stained-glass pendant and decorative glass-door upper cabinets.
A protruding pantry situated between the refrigeration and cooking zones was eliminated entirely. This streamlined the perimeter layout and unlocked valuable usable space, creating a stronger sense of flow and visual balance—both essential goals of this kitchen remodel.
Engineered Detail and Craftsmanship
The core of the design utilizes Shiloh frameless cabinetry, a choice that maximizes storage and supports the clean, uninterrupted lines of the modern aesthetic. This high-end cabinetry is robustly engineered, featuring heavyweight boxes, panels, and door fronts, finished with a durable TFL (Thermally Fused Laminate). TFL finishes create a highly resilient surface, seamlessly fused to a premium engineered-wood substrate for exceptional durability and lasting quality. The technical construction ensures the material is both washable and maintains the beauty of the simulated textured wood-grain finish over time.
To achieve the sleek, minimalist aesthetic, all cabinetry utilizes the Push-To-Open (PTO) feature, relying on high-end Blum hardware. This design choice eliminates exposed pulls or knobs for a modern and open feel. Under-cabinet lighting was built into routed aluminum channels and finished with linear diffusers, allowing the fixtures to remain concealed while providing even, high-quality task lighting.
We incorporated a thoughtful mix of upper, lower, and floor-to-ceiling cabinets, along with drawers, to maximize storage and organization. The extended center island adds even more storage while maintaining a sleek, balanced aesthetic.
The Palette and Integrated Technology
The palette balances the warmth of the wood finish with the brightness of white quartz countertops. This quartz—selected for its high-end appearance and durability—was extended vertically to create a full-height backsplash, unifying the work surfaces. The white appliances form a cohesive foundation with the white quartz, ensuring a clean, unified aesthetic.
Appliances were selected for their modern functionality and sleek, visually cohesive design. The contemporary white french door refrigerator, WiFi-enabled double oven, and dishwasher all feature subtle copper hardware. This accent finish is consistently carried through to the functional fixtures, including the 36-inch Café induction cooktop—which can be configured to combine element areas if desired—and its dedicated copper pot filler.
The long center island houses both the kitchen sink and dishwasher, forming the apex of the kitchen’s work triangle for an efficient and intuitive workflow. The sink contrasts beautifully with the white quartz countertop, featuring a dark composite quartz bowl with a half-height divider and a touchless copper-finished faucet. The island serves as a functional and technological hub, incorporating two pop-up GFI outlets with USB-A and USB-C ports. When closed, the outlets offer the added convenience of wireless phone charging directly on the countertop.
